Whether you're a local or just visiting, Dakshin Indique is a must-try for those who appreciate bold spices, rich curries, and vibrant dishes.

From the moment you walk in, the ambiance of the restaurant sets the tone for what’s to come. The decor is a mix of classic Indian art and modern design, making it feel both welcoming and sophisticated. Whether you're sitting by the windows or tucked into a cozy corner, the environment is perfect for a relaxed meal with friends, family, or even a date night.

The menu at Dakshin Indique is a true reflection of the South Indian culinary tradition. Known for its exceptional dosas, biryanis, and flavorful curries, there’s something for everyone. The dosas are crispy and packed with a variety of fillings, from classic potato masala to the more adventurous lamb or paneer options. If you’re new to South Indian cuisine, the dosas are a perfect place to start-they're light yet satisfying, and you’ll find the tangy sambar and coconut chutney the perfect complement.

For those looking for something more substantial, the biryani at Dakshin Indique is one of the standout dishes. Made with fragrant basmati rice, succulent meat (or vegetables for vegetarians), and a blend of aromatic spices, this dish is as flavorful as it is filling. It's a great choice if you're craving something hearty and comforting.

Another must-try is the restaurant’s selection of curries. The flavor profile is rich and layered, with dishes like the chicken curry or the vegetarian korma offering just the right balance of heat and depth. The use of fresh ingredients shines through in each bite, and whether you go mild or spicy, you'll find that the curries pack a punch without overwhelming your taste buds.

The drinks menu is equally impressive, offering a variety of Indian-inspired cocktails, mocktails, and traditional beverages like lassi. If you’re a fan of spices, try the Masala Chai, which is freshly brewed with cardamom, ginger, and other aromatic spices-it's the perfect way to end your meal.

What makes Dakshin Indique stand out is its commitment to authentic flavors while keeping up with modern trends. • Amazing food and service! Highly recommend appetizers: Palak chat, dosa, gobi Manchurian, samosa chaat. Entrees: chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, delicious naan. My absolute favorite Indian restaurant in the DC area!

  • Lunch was a delight! The paneer sag (4.5/5), dal makhni (4/5), garlic naan (5/5), and cucumber raita (5/5) were all delicious. Excellent food and great service made for a very satisfying meal—highly recommended

  • service was amazing! so attentive and kind. a little slow but there was limited staff and a lot of customers so understood. Food was reasonably priced and there were so many options. Definitely want to come back and try other menu items! they do not offer drinks if that’s something you are looking for in a dining experience.

  • The atmosphere is calm and clean. The food is spectacular. No matter what you order you will love it. We had the lamb vindaloo and saag paneer with roti, cucumber raita and lime pickle. The Mumbai mule is the best I’ve ever had and it has curry leaves in it! The service was impeccable. Well worth the price. Oh and they don’t rush you which is unusual in America. We will make this one of our regular spots for Indian cuisine.

  • A dreamy delicious experience! The food, especially the samosa chat, but really all of the food, packed a huge punch flavor wise. I also found the service to be superb- the wait staff were all extremely pleasant and elegant. It felt like an upscale dining experience, food presentation and quality of service wise, all while being affordable! They also were able to accommodate my friend’s severe gluten allergy.

  • New name, but the food and ambiance are as fantastic as ever. Some of the best dal tadka I've ever had, and the craft cocktail was superlative. The service was good, too, but I was absolutely spoiled in the past by the Indique staff and owner, so the bar is high; I look forward to coming back to give this team the opportunity to reach those heights. Great experience all around!
